Become a Women's Yoga Teacher with Bliss Baby Yoga!

Shakti Purna WEBDid you now that even though 80% of yoga practitioners are women, so much of the yoga that is taught these days is not appropriate for a woman’s body, particularly during her key life transitions like pregnancy, the menstrual cycle and menopause?

That’s why I’m thrilled to announce a groundbreaking new Bliss Baby Yoga teacher training course: our 200 hour Shakti Purna Teacher Training Course coming up this November.

We've paired up with Byron Yoga Centre to create this pioneering new Yoga Alliance accredited 200 hour Teacher Training Course which provides you with the opportunity to train to be a yoga teacher (RYT) and specialise in the increasingly popular niche area of yoga for women’s health.

To become a fully accredited 200 hr Shakti-Purna RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) you will need to undertake two modules.

Module 1: Shakti-Purna Foundation Teacher Training – a 120 hour training course over 12 days, consisting of the basics necessary to equip you as a safe, knowledgeable yoga teacher.

Module 2:

Choose from either:

Women’s Yoga (Module 2A: 80 hr Women’s Yoga Speciality Teacher Training)

OR

Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga (Module 2B: 100 hr Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training) 


Who is this course for?

This course is perfect for those who already work in the area of women’s health and want to add ‘yoga teacher’ to your qualifications. It’s also for those who would like to become a yoga teacher but would prefer to train in a soft, gentle and more feminine kind of yoga and would like to share this approach with women in your community.

What is Shakti-Purna Yoga?

Shakti-Purna Yoga is a feminine, feel-good approach to yoga co-created by Bliss Baby Yoga and Byron Yoga Centre. Like all of the teacher training courses and classes taught by the Byron Yoga Centre, it’s an approach that is holistic, integrating not just the physical postures but also the other equally important subtle aspects of yoga such as philosophy and yogic ethics, meditation and breathing practices.

The difference is that in the 200 hr Shakti Purna Teacher Training Course the postures and practices are taught from a uniquely feminine perspective - to suit the particular needs of the female body and psyche, and to support a female student’s monthly and life cycles.

Shakti-Purna Yoga focuses on safe, mindful alignment in the yoga postures that also honours the unique feminine anatomy and physiology. The postures that are covered are safe, gentle and easily modified for students of all ages and stages. The fundamentals of pranayama (breath-work), meditation, philosophy and ethics will also be covered, but from a woman-centred perspective.
