Are you practising the art of self-care?

OK, we are already well into March, don’t panic!  It’s so interesting how the ‘busy-ness’ disease can affect our perception of time.

I recently attended a local philosophy group discussing this sticky question – “what is time?”.  The Professor of Philosophy who facilitated our group discussion made a point that really hit home for me as I often feel, like many of us do, that I am time-poor. He said: “Remember your time is your time. No one can take that away from you”. I guess it’s about what we do with our very own, precious time that is the key. As they say, we all have the same 24 hours.

I feel that while we are in an era where many of us suffer the modern malady of ‘time-poverty’ we are now responding in a positive way with the current wave of ‘self-care’ that is becoming fashionable – finally!  It is the zeitgeist of our time in which so many people are falling from stress-related illness. We are coming to the realisation that we can't look after all the other people in our lives without first looking after ourselves, which is something very pertinent to new mothers who are instinctually geared to put their baby’s needs above all else.

In this month's Bliss Baby Yoga E-News, our senior course facilitator, Star Despres, who is a passionate advocate for the importance of 'nurturing the nurturer’, shares some of her favourite restorative self-care practices for new mothers. It’s a juicy, information-packed offering – check it out!

We are also excited to share our upcoming Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Weekend Intensive in Byron Bay next month - the perfect excuse to get away for a nurturing weekend with like-minded women in our ocean-side paradise.

This month, we introduce Rosie Matheson, facilitator of our international Bliss Baby Yoga teacher training courses in Japan and featuring presenter for our upcoming Online Lecture Series, who shares her passion for conscious conception, birth, and parenting, and the role that yoga can play in making this journey a nurturing one for both mother and child.

We also extend an invitation to the new mums in the Byron Shire to take some time for self care (with bub) and join the trainees of our 100 hour Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course for a Free Mums n Bubs Yoga Class in the Byron Shire next week.

Finally, I am so very excited to finally unveil my latest passion-project - an e-book called "The Dark Moon: Nurturing Yoga for Healthy Menstruation" which is now available as part of my "Moving with the Moon" Book (which is also now available for pre-order).

Until next time, enjoy your time!

Love and light,
Ana
